My first camp experience

I woke with a good feeling about my first camp. My heart was beating with excitement. Never have I felt so excited! I ran down to my mum and dad's room to share the good news with them. I was thanking them for their decision of sending me to the sweetness that is camp. I could do with a vacation.
Mum tossed us our stuff and we scampered into Mrs Cuming's car waiting to be surprised.
We were the first ones there. I forgot who was 2nd and 3rd, 4th and 5th.
We moved on after all of the school pranced to the parking lot.
We munched dowm on delicious lunch. After lunch we skipped to the train. It was my first time on a train.
The train went dark when we went through the tunnels. I couldn't see most people and I found that a bit scary. After the frightening train we we walked to a hostel. We slipped into the beautiful hostel. I'd never been in a hostel.
We walked up to the front desk and asked if we could stay there for three days. It was great to be in Wellington!

camp

CARTER'S
Carters Observatory was fun because I saw cool things I have never seen before. It was beautiful. I loved my first camp.
It was so fun when I went on a cable car for my first time. I liked going on the cable car because I had never done it before. The cable car was red and it wasn’t that fast. I went in, then I went to my seat. Then I sat down and I looked at the stops as we went up. I felt excited because I had never gone on camp before and I liked doing things at camp.
When we got off the cable car my legs were sore because of all of the walking to all the cool places we went to and my feet were too big for my shoes. We were in the Botanical Gardens. They were beautiful! Then I saw the Observatory .
When we got off the cable car we walked through the gardens and up the hill to the Carters Observatory. There was a giant egg when you came in. It was by the door. It was painted like art. It was beautiful.
I went in the door. We did lots of activities. I played with the rocket game. It was fun. I want to do it again.
Inside the Observatory I saw what spacemen eat and do and what they did for fun. Then I went to the big room. The big room is a movie room. I went to  see the show about the night sky. It was perfect. I saw stars. They were so beautiful. My favourite planet is earth because it is the planet we live on and because it is colourful and all the people that live on earth are good people. I believe in aliens because if there are no aliens then why are there planets. If there are no aliens, there is nothing living on the planets.
After the show we went to the door and the evening was still so beautiful.
I loved the show. It was cool. It was fun doing all of the great stuff. Ii loved my first camp. It was perfect!
Then we went out the door and we walked through the Botanical Gardens  to the cable car. It took as to the cable car station. I was soaked because it was raining outside. I loved the show. It was cool.

I loved it because I did a lot of things I have never done before. I especially liked staying in the hotel. I loved everything!!

RESPONSIBILITY'S
At camp we walked out of the hotel in our Whanau groups.
We went to a restaurant and I ate lots of yummy food.I had a bright white dish with lots of small white rice scattered all over my plate. It was so yummy I had to eat it slowly to enjoy it.
The next day we went to the Carters Observatory and we saw a giant egg.It had black and orange and pink all over it.We had a look around and I found lots of information on the walls. Then we went to go and see the show. The show was on the roof.We saw lots of stars and planets. The planets  I can remember are Mars and Earth.I learnt all about the stars.
The last day we scampered to the Circus School. We were waiting outside eating pizza.
Soon after we went inside to the circus and we saw the teachers. We did lots of exercise starters like forwards rolls and back rolls. Then we did juggling and went on the trapeze.I really enjoyed going the trapeze. It was hard to pull myself up. I went on the small trapeze.
After Circus School we walked to the bus.We accessed the bus and got a ride down to the train station.
Then the train took us to Waikanae. On the train I was holding my breath when we went through the tunnels. There was one tunnel that was too long for me to hold my breath.I think that tunnel was about 1 minute long. When we arrived at the cars we all jumped into them and drove back home. I had lots of fun on my first camp and I learnt lots.
I also missed home lots but that couldn't stop me from having fun!

tom the goblen

Once upon a time there was a goblin named Tom.
He was a spy and he had to watch over the two castles; one was evil and one was nice.
He was trying to find out which one was evil.
The one with bats or the one with rainbows. He went with the rainbows.
As he follows the path towards the suspicious rainbow castle he spots a tunnel. He was unsure if he should go into the tunnel or keep exploring the castle.
What should he choose?
He stuck with keeping exploring the castle.
As he strolls down the rainbow coloured path he trips over a rainbow rock and falls into the tunnel. Then the tunnel doors seal as tight as they could, almost injuring Tom’s hands and then he slides down the slippering water slide. He lands into a dark spooky cave. He touches a flashlight and grabs it. He flicks on the light and he realizes he only has a little time before the battery dies. He shines the light at a skeleton grasping a magical sword and the skeleton starts to do the chicken dance. Then he turns into dust.
Tom quickly grabs the sword and the sword lights up like fire but it’s still white. Suddenly his arms start to hurt and then he grows huge muscles and he starts to finally sound manly. He runs in slow mo just for fun and punches down the magic sealed door and starts to run faster and faster and faster until he gets to the end of the rainbow and and he STOPS!
He quietly walks back and SNAP!
He steps on a purple stick and the troll turns his head around like an owl and he jumps backwards onto the castle like something creepy.
Then the troll grabs Tom and puts him upside down inside the chimney.
He screams, “I’m not ready to be Santa! Nooooooooo!! But it would be cool to a have flying reindeer.”
Then Santa comes down and starts to breakdance just for fun and flies back to the North Pole and he accidentally drops his magic flying dust into the trolls hand. Then the troll started to do the chicken dance. Then he sits on the pink colour and he turns into pink dust.
Tom finally gets out of the chimney and starts to fill his pockets with gold. His best friend Frank sends him a text message that the bat castle gives away free ice cream.
“Sounds awesome,” he sends back.

We need school!

Why do we need school?
We learn lots at school.

We need school to learn to read books
Why do we need to learn to read?
So we can read to other people. We need to read to know where to go. We would be able to read signs and maps. Then I could go to America.
I like reading stories too.
We need school to learn maths.
We need maths so we can get a job like a teacher. When we go shopping we have to use money to buy things. We have to make sure we have enough money. If you haven’t learnt maths you can’t count your money.
School helps us learn how to get along with other people.
At school you make friends. We help the new people at school know what to do. In my whanau group I learn how to get along with other people to do things like planting and working together on our pinata for science and technology.
When I am an older I will know how to get along with other people because I learnt it at school.

We need school  because with a good education we can get a good job.
I would like to have lots of jobs ... like an artist or a cook or a pizza delivery person

So that’s why we need school.
